Harry Andrews Series 1

A very successful start to the first of our new Harry Andrews series events with the event filling up early

Due to the interest and fantastic support from the competitors the event reached maximum numbers and had to be closed early.

The players and spectators had a great time & there were many hard fought battles. We look forward to seeing you all at the second of the series.

See our calendar for the upcoming events.

Congratulations to Sumit Abrol (first time finalist) who overcame new Victorian Luv Boricha 4-1 in the final

Foul and a Miss rule guidelines

To all Pennant Snooker players.

It is our responsibility, to the best of our ability, to ensure that our competitions run smoothly and in accordance with the highest standards of fairness and sportsmanship.

Accordingly, we would like to address a common 'discussion' and misinterpretation that arises regarding the 'foul and a miss' rule in snooker, and to ask for your assistance in promoting consistent understanding and application of this rule across all our venues.

Rule Clarification: Foul and a Miss

The inconsistency in the application of the 'foul and a miss' rule during matches causes, at times, significant angst among competitors and spectators alike.

The opinion of the referee should be called for if a player has all balls “on” totally obstructed by balls “not on”. In such a case, the difficulty of the escape and the skill of the player must be taken into account and that the attempt was a reasonable one in considering the possibility of success.

Remember, just because you believe you can get out of a snooker, does not mean that the person at the table can. Just because you think it is easy, does not mean that it is to the person at the table.

Please see the attached Guide that we would like all Team Captains, to print and display in your club and bring to the attention of your players.
