Great final between James Mifsud & Paul Thomerson
James came out the winner 4 / 2 James made breaks of 105 / 91 / 57 / 69 in the final
It was very difficult for Paul to win frames against such a high standard of play.
Well done to both players in getting to the final.

The 2022 Suzanne Cory snooker program at the Yarraville Club is about to recommence on February 2.
This year the school has registered 26 students who will be participating in the program. Similar numbers in the past have required between 3 and 4 coaches during any given session..
So we're reaching out to see who would be willing & able to lend a hand for approximately 2 hours on every second Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1pm on the following dates....

At this stage we're not looking for a rock solid commitment, just a show of hands from whoever might be willing to help out.

Neil Robertson landed his second Cazoo Masters crown, ten years after his first, with a 10-4 defeat of Barry Hawkins in the final at Alexandra Palace.
This is 2010 World Champion Robertson’s sixth Triple Crown title, moving him ahead of Alex Higgins into eighth position on the all-time list. Only Ray Reardon, Mark Williams, Selby, John Higgins, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry and Ronnie O'Sullivan have won more.
Robertson had an impressive path to lifting the Paul Hunter Trophy and securing the £250,000 top prize. After a 6-3 defeat of Anthony McGill in the opening round, he scored a 6-4 win over O'Sullivan. He then secured a thrilling 6-5 defeat of Williams in the semi-finals, where he came back from requiring two snookers in the decider.
This afternoon saw 21-time ranking event winner Robertson take control of proceedings, establishing a 5-3 cushion heading into the final session.
World number four Robertson kept pressing forward when the concluding session got underway and moved three ahead at 6-3, with the help of a 50 break. The Hawk clawed his way back within two when he composed a break of 69 to make it 6-4. However, that would prove to be his final frame of the evening. Robertson surged for the finish line and crafted breaks of 68 and 114 on his way to four frames on the bounce, which secured him the 10-4 win and his second taste of Masters glory.

We have just received information that there has been a product safety recall for table irons from China due to the discovery of asbestos.
What are the defects?
The heat control pad and the heat resistant stand of the iron contain asbestos. Asbestos fibres may be released if the iron is disassembled, under certain types of use or with time as the iron and stand are handled and used.

Congratulations to John Schenck beating James Mifsud to win his third Victorian Billiards Championship
The final was contested with John coming out opening a lead of 200 in the first hour only to be caught by James within 40 going to the break.
It looked like it was going to be a very close match but when we started the second half of the final, John just got his head down with continually playing some great shots to keep James from getting in the game.
John proved that over many years he still had what it takes to be a champion.
I would like to thank Larry Eforgan and his team of referees for all the hard work they put in over the two days.
Congratulations to Brendon Lang with a 4-1 win over Michael Scerri in the final of the Reventon Hat Trick 2 he played incredibly well over the weekend to take the Reventon Trophy plus the prize money.
All players enjoyed a great weekend with being able to get back into competition mode again.
Thanks must go to George Spiteri for his efforts in getting this tournament up and running, it's been a long year with Covid 19 he had to cancel this Tournament on 5 occasions but in the end George and persistence give us a great tournament.
Larry Eforgan with his top crew of referees again did a great job, well done Larry.
We look forward to Reventon Hat Trick 1+2+3 in 2022 so make sure you watch this space to get your entries in early.

- Snooker is back with the top players fighting out Victoria's top snooker Prize.
This tournament is not about prize money, it's the chance to put your name in the history books.
We have just had the final between the top two ranked players in Vic, what a final it was Johl Younger came out fighting in the first frame with a 130 clearance and continued in the second with 65,
James Mifsud was in shock but was not going to take this laying down and came out in the third frame with a 72 break and we were seeing some great potting, especially the long potting from James. He continued in the fourth with breaks of 49 & 39 to make the score line 2 -2. Both players not giving an inch. Johl came back in the fifth frame with a break of 59 to lead 3 - 2 but James was not finished yet. The sixth frame was tight with great safety by both with James finally getting past the post with a clearance of 59. It all then came down to the final frame. James opened with a break 49 which was enough to keep Johl at bay for the rest of the frame and forcing a concession needing 4 snookers after James potted the brown.
A big thanks goes to the organisers, getting things up and running at short notice after lockdown restrictions were lifted and an answered call from the referees who once again did sterling work over a tiring weekend for them.
Jim Lewis excelled once again as the grand final referee and many positives also came out from the very recently accredited Balraj and Maurice, Amol Abdagiri also gets a mention for stepping into the only gap left on Sunday morning.
