Expressions of Interest - Tournament Director

During each year the VBSA runs a number of state and national tournaments, and we appoint a Tournament Director (TD) for most of these events. The TD usually receives a modest payment in recognition of their time and effort.

The VBSA is now calling for expressions of interest from members who may wish to apply for this role for tournaments during 2019 and beyond. You would need moderate computer skills (data entry into online scoring systems), to be highly organised, to be punctual, to be well presented, to be prepared to make on-the-spot decisions in unforeseen circumstances, and to be comfortable speaking to a room full of players and referees.

Members who are interested should email the secretary at with full contact details and a brief outline of your skills and any relevant experience.

At a Board Meeting on 11th December 2018, the Board made an amendment to the VBSA ByLaws to reflect the changed pennant conditions, being the removal of untimed games in A Grade Snooker.  Section 7 has been amended to reflect this.  Refer Policies & Procedures page for current version.

Season 1 Pennant

Please note that the Season 1 tables for C State Snooker (CVS1) are not accurate as the grade is being divided into an East & West competition due to large number of entries.

Fixtures for ALL Grades have now been finalised and are available on the VBSA Scores/ Season 1 page.  All Captains will be e-mailed & texted to alert them to availability of fixtures.

Please contact me at or 0422 304 052 if you have any queries.

Thank you for your patience & co-operation.

Dolly Lindrum - Funeral

As a final note, Dolly's funeral was held on Monday 21st January 2019 and was very well attended.  The three speakers, including Robby Foldvari, gave a wonderful insight into the life of this much treasured figure of the game.  Her family were very touched by the level of feeling for Dolly displayed.  Thank you to the many members who made the effort to come along.

Further to below, Dolly's funeral will be held on Monday 21st January, 2019, at 11:00am at St Silas Church, 99 Bridport St, Albert Park (opposite Albert Park Light Rail Station) to be immediately followed by refreshments.

A viewing will be held at 10:30am on Monday, prior to the funeral.  A private burial will be conducted.

The VBSA urges all members who remember Dolly to show their respects.

Notices will be published in the Age and Herald/Sun newspapers from tomorrow (Friday 18th January)
