World Under 21 Championships Jinan China

Marc and Tony Fridman wish to thank everyone who provided sponsorship and support in helping Marc get to the Under 21 World Championships in mid July 2018.

Marc was able to watch and play against people of a world class standard (an 18 year old made a 147!!) and gain valuable knowledge on what is needed to advance to the next level.

A few matches were close and went down to the wire but Marc didn't manage to get over the line.  It was an invaluable learning experience and a very exciting time in the development of his snooker.  He is looking forward to more competition at this level.

Marc is being coached, practicing rigorously and will continue to play competition and tournaments to achieve success at a national and international level.  With support from all and continued passion and dedication from Marc, this can be achieved

Thank you.

Marc & Tony Fridman.

Victorian Women’s Billiards Championship

Congratulations to Anna Lynch on yet another Women’s Billiards State Title. Anna won all of her round robin matches and went on to win the title against Shelly Ames who won three of her four round robin matches. Anna had several breaks over 20, and a terrific 47 in the final, to which Shelly replied with a 25 on her next visit, so over 70 in two visits from the two finalists - great work ladies! The other competitors were Lyndal Element, Yvonne Mahoney and Michelle Hansen. Well done to all the ladies who participated.

VBSA Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the 2018 AGM will be held at the Yarraville Club (not Reventon Academy) on Wednesday 15th August 2018 from 7:00pm.  Please see the attached Agenda.

Also note that amendments to the VBSA Rules are being considered.  Attached are the amendments to be considered and voted on.  In brief, the changes amend procedures so that
• VBSA membership automatically renews, provided a member has paid any required fees; has filled in a new membership application form (if and when the Board requests it) and has played or refereed a VBSA match in the last 12 months.
•  A Disciplinary Sub-Committee and a Disciplinary Appeal Sub-Committee be established, replacing the system whereby an appeal would go to a General meeting.

Only current, financial members of the VBSA will be allowed to vote at the AGM.

Please be punctual. Mark Dunn, SECRETARY
